Heh... One of the earliest warnings dear old Dad ever gave me was, “Don’t try to break up a fight because you end up with the fighters going after YOU.” He didn’t mean, naturally, not to intervene in an obvious situation of somebody getting mugged or a gang beating up one person, etc. He meant a fight where the odds were basically even and the fighters had a score to settle. Just let them settle the score themselves.
The same reason cops don’t like domestic violence calls.
Once you are there they both forget about what they were fighting about and turn on you.
