Even medium-priced Euro cars are indeed designed to do 100mph and remain stable. I believe a lot of Americanized Euro cars (like the smaller Buicks that are actually Opel designs) are altered for more sedate American highways.

I used to drive an opel GT. When the rear end went out I got another one from an opel Kadet with the anti sway bar and removed the nylon bolt plugs in my frame and got the GT “european” suspension. ;-)
