I got nailed in northern Wyoming doing 146 late one night. I could see for miles and no one was around. I slowed from 160 because I saw the cop a few miles out. $200 ticket, no points. He only wrote me up for 106 to avoid a felony and he wanted to go home as it was the end of shift. For the record, a 1996 Acura TL can do 160+.

Yeah. My brother in law was on I-90 in Montana in his Countach and for a brief couple of miles was racing a corvette pretty deep into the triple digits. He backed off as they passed a cop. The corvette sped up and the cop could not catch him. Though my brother in law was pulled over, he was not ticketed. There was no traffic and, frankly, they were both “adult” about it. We do all sorts of things that are more dangerous than eating oatmeal at the breakfast table. And some things actually look a lot more risky than they really are, and vice versa.

Without risk, there is no life.
