"AMC has struck gold with its hit drama, The Walking Dead. The independent cable television company has created much more than a compelling zombie story. In fact, The Walking Dead is the highest rated show on television among the much chased after 18 to 49 year old demographic, according to The New York Times....... Technology is playing a role in the shows success. Alexia Quadrani, a media analyst at JPMorgan, gives Netflix at least some of the credit...... AMCs willingness to release its content onto video streaming services like Amazon Prime means viewers have a cheap and convenient way to access that content without resorting to piracy..... People tune in for the characters, show producer David Alpert told Business Insider. They are emotionally invested in these people, the dilemmas, and moral choices. I think if we did this today as just a straight zombie action show I dont think anybody would watch. Or, there would be a very small audience; just the hardcore fans.Either way, the success of shows like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones is changing the equation for big networks and smaller cable channels alike. As Forbes Jeff Bercovi reported recently, some of the big networks are looking at the future of their broadcast status with much less certainty than before. And, thats not what we do.

you know it doesn’t bother me, they won’t screw it up by making it go on too long. i mean i love it but i think if they went longer they’d be doing it for the sake of doing it. the story arc has been great and not overblown.
Yeah, I noticed all of that, but to be honest they are still giving a nod to “rednecks are ignorant inbreds” thought by (Seriously prepared for flames) his eyes are so close together. Guess that always seemed like a sleight to me.
A crossbow????
Shane was nuts, but I miss him.
Hopefully. (Wondering if I should feel bad for saying that)....
Okay, four people in that picture are now dead.
I understand what you mean; but, I found that episode really something special. Michael Rooker really showed his acting chops and I went from hating Merle to being sad that Merle was dead. That is the quality of the acting and writing that can make a person change their opinion so much about a character.
I really liked Merle's character for one other reason; and, that is that he was honest about the situation that they have found themselves in. And, his love for his brother which led him to make the ultimate sacrifice in order for Daryl to be safe (or safer since it is the zombie apocolypse and how safe is anyone).
So, Merle's redemption episode was just great; but, I will miss the one character who can be honest with Rick.
Georgia! - We got lots a Darrels.
Please let it be Carl. Please.
Yes we do! My boyfriend reminds me a lot of Daryl, in ways. In that he’s protective and caring of his own, though he’s gruff on the outside. Other ways too. happy sigh
This article is spot on, for me at least. All I had to do was sign up for one month of Netflix at 7.99 and was able to watch all of the first three seasons in that time span. Then I did not renew my membership since their streaming service offers very little other than archived series such as these. I freely admit to catching up on season 4 through pirated sites until I caught up with the show in real time.
AMC kicks butt imho. I think Mad Men is boring but Breaking Bad is the second best show on television. Can’t wait for the series last episodes this summer.
forgot to mention ....he’s SUCH a GA boy!!! (man)
Are you sure Andrea is dead?

Well, I just assumed she was, but that's an intriguing thought...though I don't think she'd be nearly as hot as a zombie. I really hope there aren't similar plans for Maggie and Beth...I don't like the idea of killing off attractive women and/or making them zombies.
