Yes, ‘they’ took whole sets of nuclear missiles ‘off line’. But the most astonishing aspect is that they flew right up to the gates and right over the silos in crafts that defy our conceptualization of inertia and acceleration.
Unless we believe large numbers of military personnel who were chosen for their jobs based upon their strong grasp of reality were somehow made hysterical, then the reality of extraterrestrials is a given and their technological capabilities are real ... and we can eventually do likewise! That makes us very dangerous to the future of interstellar civilizations ... unless we somehow ‘grow up’ before we reach interstellar travel capabilities.

Earthlings travel aboard a spaceship and meet people from other worlds.
We learn how stupid we've been and how fragile life is.
I'll call it "Star Truck" !
Whaddya think?

I dunno if they are real or not. But your question is a good one. I would like to see more people answer it instead of mocking the idea though.
Are the soldiers all lying or not?
Kinda like Is Arpaio lying about the BC or is Obama?
Some people just don’t want to have to be out on the spot with a serious answer.

Have read about the missile base shut down several times.
Too many high quality witnesses to ignore, too many redundant systems failed at the same time.
