My sister’s appraisal of Springsteen’s vocal prowess is one that I can’t best: the man sounds like he is constantly defecating (and struggling with the effort to boot) when he attempts to sing.
If Waters isn’t bleating antisemitic drivel or wallowing in self-pity over the father he lost in WWII, he won’t shut up about Syd Barrett, who was himself overrated. Face it, Roger: Gilmour is a darn good musician by contrast, and Floyd wouldn’t be what it became without him. Get the reunion done and stop shafting your fans; even the Sex Pistols had reunion shows.
When I found out what Marley’s “religion” was, I just shook my head. Haile Selassie?
That is funny and so true. The only Springsteen that I've remotely liked is Dancing in the Dark.
Floyd had really interesting ‘music’ once you get into it...if you can that is. But although I did like the wall, His daddy issues were pathetic in the way he rode them to riches.
ZERO respect for the guy on a number of levels.
Nick Mason has retired. No Mason no Floyd.
While I wouldn't mind seeing Nick Mason play with David Gilmour again, I'm more than happy enough to listen to Pink Floyd without Waters. Overrated as a bass player, and overrated as a lyricist. Plus, he was really nasty to Rick Wright as "The Wall" tour was coming up, and forced him out of the band. Pressured by the others involved in the project, Waters agreed to "hire" Rick as a contractor for the tour, and as such, was the only one of the 4 to actually make money on that tour!
Rick Wright was touring with David Gilmour's band up until his death from Cancer. You could tell there was a lot of love and respect between Gilmour and Wright.
