And took that team on an upward trajectory as opposed to Tebow's downward trajectory.

Tebow won his first playoff game in Denver. Manning lost his.

I think you're narrowly defining your criteria so as to reach your desired conclusion.

The Patriots were an excellent 15-4 team. Denver's defense gave up 41 points in one game and 45 points in the other.

Tebow won his first playoff game in Denver. Manning lost his.

Manning had the full support and backing of Denver management. Their support of Tebow was insincere at best. They were probably upset that he ruined a very good draft position, too.
