However, in Beck's defense, his sensibilities were formed in a different era. An era when a candidate's inability to recall the number of states in the union (50, I think) would disqualify him from leading that union.
An era when a resume devoid of accomplishment or any actual work would not be an entre to higher office.
And era when just about every word from the president's mouth was not an outright lie.
Beck just takes some things more seriously because of his age and experience. He thinks these things are serious, most, unfortunately, don't.
Remember Glenn’s background. The tools of his apprenticeship are those of a used-car salesman.

Good insight. As the ignorance, vacuity and mania of the general populace increases their tolerance for it in their leaders also increases.
I’m, ahem, of his era and I take it all very seriously as well.
It’s the melodrama without the new info to pin things down that makes me wary.
Certainly I hope he has the goods and delivers on Monday.
Thank you for that post, I was born five days before D-Day and I can vouch for the fact that everything has been turned downside up and bass ackwards since those days. I have said many times that the kind of people who used to be routinely locked up in asylums are now running the country while those who speak what used to be regarded as plain common sense are ridiculed.
Say that the Sun rises in the East now and you will be an object of scorn but demand that people acknowledge that it rises in the North and sets in the Southeast and you will be taken very seriously, you might even become a Senator.
