IMO, COPS should not need to be wearing seat belts UNLESS there is high speed or danger involved. So if they are T-boned at the intersection on the way to chicken licken and are ejected from the vehicle on their head, causing brain damage, will the city/county be responsible for their injuries and decades of treatment?
