I agree, I purchased my Dell laptop in 2000 with Windows 2000 Professional. It still works fine for my needs. Unfortunately Norton just dropped support for it’s Antivirus for 2006. I am now looking for software to replace it. Any suggestions?

Norton 360 does it all. I’ve used it for 4yrs, and never had a problem.

I am now looking for software to replace it. I use McAfee AV Plus because as a Time Warner/Roadrunner subscriber I get it free. No complaints.
But if I were going to buy an AV package, I'd go with
Bit Defender. Their product page lists a number of packages with different levels of coverage.
If I wanted to go with a free AV program, I'd choose
Avast.
