Why do they cancel swim team practice when it rains? Are they afraid of getting wet?
I’m sure they cancel the swimming when it rains for the same reason they canceled it when I was a kid: The risk of being hit by lightning while in the water is about as high as that of standing under the tallest tree around to get out of the thunderstorm.
It’s a safety precaution.
