My coffee couldn’t do that... could it?
The worst day of retirement is better than the best day of work.
The fuel can is a gallon. Easy to camoflage, even with all the windows in the Tracker. I don’t normally go into places I know to be “hazardous” so refueling should be no problem. It should be safer than trying to hitch-hike to the nearest gas station, unless one of the local John Laws come around. And they ARE plentiful!
I don’t want to run out of gas, but I know of no other way to check the accuracy of fuel consumption. Unless I count the miles...And even then, I would be foolish to think adding seven gallons when the needle is on “E” is a hard and fast rule to gauging the amount of gas in the tank.
You know, you’re actually making sense to me (which should worry you). Thanks! I love the dark, too.
Yeah!
After reading what I did, I slowly turned and entered my log entry into the system “feeling fine.”
WRONG! LOL!
I was forced to retire, and I have regretted it for the last 16 years. I had no option, but many is the time I wished I was still gainfully employed.
Among other things, I would have some very good benefits and my income would not have me with too much month at the end of the money. As it is, for example, today was payday, and although my bills are all paid, there are other needs that will come up in the next 28 days or so.
And I’ve had it worse, so I consider myself lucky...a roof over my head, my bills paid, gas in the truck, and food in the cupboard!
I’m RICH!!! :o])
Busy day here, again, getting things ready for Sally’s birthday party. Bill’s weekend plans have been scuttled by a surprise assignment in one of his classes. At least, he says it’s a surprise - knowing him, it might have been on the syllabus in September.
Almost time to put Kathleen and byos to bed.
This week.
I have multiple income streams. One at the beginning of the month, one at the end, one in the latter part of the month, and a weekly (small) paycheck. Works well, right?
The problem is, I also have more relatives than a lottery winner.
Happy birthday to Sally, and I’m so sorry I don’t have all the dates. Could you please supply them for me? At least while they are home, I can send the kids cards. And why didn’t I think of it sooner?
My bad.
The Elusive Bill shall remain Elusive, even to his instructors!
I have relatives, but, (lucky me) I can plead poverty!
My legacy seems to be in the recipes I can give to my nieces and nephews! LOL! Some recipes I am known for throughout the family. Other recipes are known by only a few. But they are nonetheless requested!
Most recently, by the nephew and his wife who gave me the ticket for the trip to Idaho, and housed me for two days. Of course, my payment for that was filling in the blanks on the family history. (A small price to pay!)
It felt good to give Squoggle (nephew) the information he needed to reassure himself he had a place in my family. (The back story is convoluted. When I put this trip in writing, it will explain a lot. I will share, if asked.)
85 here. A/C just kicked on. That’s because the indoor temp is set to 84.
It would seem the ticket for the handicap parking violation has been dismissed. YAY!!!
They need to pick on someone else...
*GASP*
I’ve KILT IT!
(le Sob!)
You're just skirting the issue.
"Broken City" with Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Barry Pepper, Jeffrey Wright, Kyle
Chandler, Justin Chambers, Alona Tal, Ambyr Childers, Griffin Dunne, Michael Beach, William Ragsdale, James
Ransone, Natalie Martinez
2013, Rated R for language, sexual content, and violence, 109 minutes
Wahlberg is an ex-cop who left the force after gunning down a homey who raped and killed his girlfriend's little
sister. He claimed self-defense. Working as a PI, he is hired by the mayor, Crowe, who is up for reelection, and
whose wife, Zeta-Jones, is close friends with his opponent's campaign manager, to investigate whether they're
having an affair. Everything starts unraveling when the campaign manager turns up dead. This was a tense and
interesting story with clear sub-plots, all of it performed very well by the talented cast. We gave it ★★★★
"Fetching Cody" with Jay Baruchel, Sarah Lind, Jim Byrnes, Lucas Blaney, Liam McGuigan, Nicole Muñoz,
Jessica McLeod, Neil Denis, Chilton Crane, Barclay Hope, Ken Jones, Robert Kaiser, Angela Moore, Kyla
Wise, Art Kitching
2005, Not Rated - adult content, language, and violence, 87 minutes
A drug dealer, Baruchel, who got his girlfriend, Lind, hooked, finds her passed out at her apartment. She goes
into the hospital where the doctors discover that she has other illnesses not related to her drug habit. Not getting
that it wasn't just the drugs, the dealer goes to the local pack-rat who just happens to have a reclining chair that
can be used for space/time travel. The dealer goes back in time to attempt to save his lady love, but he finds that
changing the past is much more difficult than he ever imagined. It was pretty good for a low-budget, indy film,
and we gave it ★★★
Horse pee, er, excuse me... Budweiser?
In the morning breakfast came an hour late but consisted of one full bowl of lukewarm pap, two thick slices of brown bread heavily smeared with grease, and a large cup of warm liquid vaguely resembling paralyzed coffee.
There is smoke rising over the hills north of me.
Not good. Not good at all.
Maybe if you retire, they’ll leave you alone because of your fixed income....
“Broken City” sounds good! P.S. Is Salamander’s Halla doing OK? I haven’t received any updates other than some initial improvement.
