Yep, Steppenwolf was a moving novel indeed, that lonely,searching wolf of the steppes-- and highly agree on Warren Zevon’s considerable chops and that he did not quite get his due. I would like to have seen the underrated thread instead. More utility and potentially very illuminating.

Jonathan Kay became the prototype of the metal front man. Genius business man as well, while the rest of the band was getting all drugged up, Kay was securing the rights to the songs and the band name, and made a fortune off of it.

The underrated bands and musicians thread (I recall there was one once) will list musicians and bands that have sold gazillions of discs, and still “not everybody likes them as much as I do!”
