When did she leave her parents’ home? As an adult? She was 18 in 1960. You don't know many Italian people, do you? The "kids" stay home until they are married -- even if they are in their 30s. Don't want to leave Ma's cooking!

In my hometown I was smitten by the only Italian gal in my class, who now that I think of it bore an uncanny resemblance to Annette. To my shock she married at eighteen and has been married for forty-five years now.
