Buy a spare pc with Windows 7 now. Wish I’d done so but got seduced by the introductory price of a laptop with 8.
Unless you’re into spending many days exploring 8, researching the alterations and customizing it, get a 7.
I’ve had an 8 for around 4 months now, still see not one single thing about it that I like better than the 7.

“Buy a spare pc with Windows 7 now.”
Good advice. I read on FR that they will be stopping support for XP this year(?). Although I wonder if XP is so old - will the the hackers still be trying to get onto those systems. And isn’t that why I have additional virus protection?
It’s getting to the point where I am having a harder and harder time adapting to new software!

But W/8 is actually sppd to be better for old PCs, and in Dec. i was able to get the W/8 Pro 64 bit upgrade Dvd at NewEgg for 29.00 (40.00 rebate visa card that takes 3 months to get). See post 41 if you want.
