Keep in mind these technologies need competent people monitoring the equipment. Now, as an example, consider the quality of staffing at the TSA. Are you worried yet?
TSA is a cynical front. They already have the ability to more or less sniff for bombs (go through with a cabin pet and you’ll see), which is about the only way an aircraft could be downed by an attacker today, what with the cockpits being sealed off from hijackers now.
I’d expect more/better out of the CIA, but again who knows what all the sequester cleverness has done. (Yet, I doubt Barack has axed anything that protects his rear end, however. So DC defense probably would not suffer badly.)
