I realized, when we were sitting on Loch Ness, that to go into space would require a really special effort.
As you'll recall, the first step was acquiring the Thrust Ring. (Thanks, Norway!)
That would be needed to equalize the forces as three, count them, three Habitats were lifted into orbit so that they could rotate for artificial gravity.
All the rest followed: In a closed environment, we couldn't run internal combustion engines for tractors and delivery vehicles. Thus was born the modified transportation system of spherical elevator cars and tubular connections.
And the energy requirements for launch dictated nuclear rockets, so the first thing to do was to gather the necessary U-know-what!
As I said, it all follows from the first visions. Does anyone remember whose bright idea it was to go into space in the first place?
“Does anyone remember whose bright idea it was to go into space in the first place?”
Not It!
I’m not sure, but when the subject came up, while we were in the South Pacific, it was more like, “The sky is the limit!” and the rest is history.
Of course, had it not been for Stag, we would simply be The Undead Thread, and not the Flying Castle. Our first venture was a beer run, if I recall, and we inadvertently enabled the pliesiosaur to find True Love.
