Thanks, Dude. My son knows Right from Wrong, and he knows how his mom feels. He is a GOOD son, but he is swayed by the current wife because he is so trusting. And shamefully, I taught him that.

What I’ve observed is that some people take things for granted. Then, when the “things” they’ve taken for granted are no longer there, they groan and moan. A dollar short and a day late.
I’ve also observed a closeness in this virtual community which is real to me. Recently read a piece concerning this, and I concur that the reality of the virtual community sometimes transcends that which is ostensibly concrete. Others would undoubtedly disagree. However, I have received very valuable input, advisement and support from this community. We’re here for you just as you have been here for us.

I have no clue about my son...not a word since his first missive. And I’m not a happy camper.

I don’t know if it’s because he is hurt more that he has indicated, or because he is unable (for whatever reason) to let me know how things are. Or because his wife has taken over and is dictating how my son’s life will turn out.

It’s way too sad to think his wife of barely two years, has more sway than his mum.

I am bereft...

There have been more deaths, near deaths and incidental lives in this last three weeks than I have been able to deal with.

The sadness in my heart is something I’m not used to. I don’t really know how to articulate the pain and “uselessness” that I feel when it comes to helping others, and when my own kin is involved, I can’t help but ask, “WTF???”

Knowing your deep pondering, Bob, I can’t help but ask, again, “WTF?”

I remember one time I heard from Mom and it was near 2 AM. I said after I heard her voice ... Mom is anything wrong? Mom said no ... just wanted to be sure you were okay. I was worried about her for calling at 2 AM and another truth was Mom was worried about me. It is not 2 AM yet tonight in AR.
