If GM is pushing this, and they are, we know who owns.
correction ...
If GM is pushing this, and they are, we know who owns GM.
-— This nothing more than a frontal attack on conservative talk radio. -—
That’s what it sounds like to me.
Somebody’s pushing for replacing free AM and FM reception with services that come with monthly fees.
Yawn. Blogger B. Eric Rhoads spent four paragraphs telling us of his extreme prescience before getting to the point.
Back in the old days of Rush, 1989-1994 I used to have a cassette / radio on my desk at work. During working hours at exactly 9:06 I would start recording 45 minutes of show which usually got me to right before Rush's last break getting 35 of 37 minutes of show. Turn over cassette and repeat at 10:06.
Then on walks, bike rides, flights, drives, shopping it was all Rush. I got real good at using the fast forward button.
Today, I download podcasts of Sacramento's Armstrong and Getty's defacto national show and do the same.
GM can shove their onstar radioless cars up their tailpipes!
I’ll never buy one of big brothers cars ever, so I don’t care what they do.
Hey Sam, too bad I didn't know that two weeks ago.
You want to do a web search for "Coby CA 745" and buy one from the online store of your choice.
It's the only FM transmitter that works worth a darn, and I use it every single day I'm on the road.
Looking forward to Adblock for auto internet radio, although I will never actually buy another new car or overair internet radio or even a used car newer than 2008. I generally drive an '86 -- been through three radios.
A move to kill Rush.
I've been searching for something that not only has no commercials, but plays AOR [album-oriented rock] like they did back when we were young[er]. I.E; they'd play most of the album and you'd hear it all--for a bit, anyway.
THEN the program directors figured out which of the album's songs from the album were real hits, from the request rates, then that's ALL they would play from that album! And, they still follow that formula!
I, for a bit, thought iheart.com was good, but they also made the fatal error of repetition on a daily basis--the same core playlist every day! Who the hell wants that? NOT ME, thanks.
I'm not pimpin' anything, it's all free, took a bit of time to discover this jewel, enjoy it if it's your favorite background noise! ;) Deep Cuts Classic Rock
I will never buy a GM vehicle.
I listen to the radio on my I-Phone with my car bluetooth, it’s clearer reception and I don’t have to worry about adjusting the station when I drive out of the coverage area. I also use Pandora, a whole lot of the time.
Hmmm. Rush is on AM. Along with all other conservative or anti- regulation, or consumer, or truth about money guys/ gals. And Obama Motors wants to remove AM from cars. hmmm.
I agree that for safety alone radio should be left in cars. Any force of nature or even an attack could decimate electricity and satellite and cell service. Radio still works.
Cool. When I buy a new car, they can put a radio in it, or keep the thing.
The rental co should be able to pay it and turn it on within minutes for your trip tomorrow. If they would.
I have one question
. How do you stream Ihart without a cellular data connection?
Ow, thats right, you cant.
So you will have to have a cellular data plan costing many $$$ every month to support simple radio listening.
If the power is out, lines are down, and the cellular system is down, you are just screwed. It doesnt mater if the local AM radio station has redundant backups, with full generator power, you wont be able to hear them to find out any information regarding the situation..
All I got to say is F*^ that.
Exactly! Too many people listening to those evil conservatives like Limbaugh and Hannity during drive time.
I wonder if Obama suggested this idea to his Government Motors company.
I have Virgin Mobile smartphone, $80 (has
been on sale for $60) and unlimited web for
$35 mo. (300 anytime min/mo phone talk)
But recep can be iffy and yes cell nets can go
down or have problems. Usually not so
w broadcast
“”Coby CA 745””
My son has one of those and in every trip he joins us I get to hear the oddities of the bazillion things he has stored in his digital music thingy.
