Hi Teenie, Thanks for your kind words. I am doing better, lots better than last Saturday. Friday makes a whole week that Jack has been gone. He did have a great life here, and I think he was around 28 which is a very long life for a horse. I am praying that God guides me to the right horse so I can have the priviledge of caring for it until God calls that one home too. My second horse Sunny is doing OK, my husband and I are making sure to go to the barn area many times a day to see Sunny, and I am leaving a radio on so he is not in silence while he’s outside for the day. He’s getting extra love, and I hope in the next few months I can find him a horse companion and they will be best buddies like Sunny and Jack were.
: )
Aw! Thanks Jaycee. I actually did tell a horse owning friend of mine to be on the lookout for a good horse for me just this morning when I called her. Next I will tell the man who cares for my horses feet (the farrier). He sees lots of horses everyday in his work, and he knows lots of people who have horses. Somewhere out there is the horse that is waiting for me to find him. I will certainly love to tell everyone here and have a horse party when I find the right horsie.
More importantly, you are feeling better, right? I’ve been in a fog for a week, so I missed out on stuff. I surely hope you’re doing well Dearest Jaycee.

Every March, the Iditarod Trail Race is held in Alaska. Sled dogs and their drivers, called mushers, race across a 1,049-mile route from Anchorage to Nome. The competing teams cover this great distance in anywhere from 8 to 15 days. In 2011, a record time was set by musher John Baker who covered the entire route in 8 days, 19 hours, 46 minutes, and 39 seconds. The teamwork between dogs and driver is remarkable, and those who compete are tenacious in their efforts to win. The first-place winner receives a cash prize and a new pickup truck. But after so much perseverance in extreme weather conditions, the accolades and prizes may seem insignificant and transient.
The excitement of a race was a familiar concept to the apostle Paul, but he used competition to illustrate something eternal. He wrote, Everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown (1 Cor. 9:25).
Sometimes we are tempted to place our emphasis on temporal rewards, which perish with the passing of time. The Scriptures, however, encourage us to focus on something more permanent. We honor God by seeking spiritual impact that will be rewarded in eternity.

I am SO glad you are pain-free today, Meg!
((((HUGS))))
I was away last week, and did not have a computer.
I am so sorry about Jack. I know very well how much we love our furry friends who have been entrusted to our care.
((((HUGS))))
WOW so am I..Felt like a bad ear infection..I’ve had it before so recognized the symptoms..Iam gleeful to have it gone.
How is your mother..How are you?
I am glad to see you are better, Dolly..and so glad you have had a wonderful support team..
Prayers for continued improvement..
Your kitty is beautiful,
Mom is home, scooting around her apartment with her walker, preparing breakfast, going to the bathroom, and dressing herself without assistance.
My sister now controls the meds, and makes lunch and dinner for her. Sis’s son is expecting twin boys, and, because of the economy, Son, D-I-L, and new Babies will be moving in as well. So there will be four generations in one house.
While I was there, I helped paint and furnish the new nursery, cleaned Mom’s apartment, vacuumed, and SHOVELED SNOW (UNGH!)
Only one thing remains. Mom’s mental acuity has returned to a degree, but she has been SO traumatized by the events of the past month that she is fixated upon her mistreatment at the hands of the “system”. Although she is perfectly justified, she can’t seem to talk of anything else. I kept telling her, “You’re Victorious! Look what you have overcome! You have TRIUMPHED over the worst possible junk the system could dish out, and now you’re HOME!” etc etc etc. I think it is going to take a while, and LOTS of prayer and encouragement.
I am sad she was treatd so miserably..Prayers for her ability to enjoy life again ..but I know it must have been a trauma to endure.
Sounds like you got some good work done..
(and you were never going to shovel snow again)
Welcome back.
Her biggest issue was that, when she would speak to the nurse or aide, the person would walk right by as if she hadn’t heard.
I explained to her that this is how society at large behaves these days. EVERY morning when I walk the dog, and someone is approaching, I say “Good Morning!”. Nine times out of ten the approaching person shows not even a flicker of human contact and says nothing as they walk by.
Not saying “Good Morning” back to a stranger is one thing. But when that person is someone to whose care you have been entrusted, it is very demeaning and humiliating.

It doesn’t take that much effort to be courteous for heavens sake! Yes..Society seems to have lost a lot of old fashioned good manners.
THANK YOU, FOR THE SWEET PHOTO. WE (animals and mankind ALL SEEK warmth and kindness from others).
The pop ups are making it imposssible to function, no way to get away from them. It is ruining this site. MO
iS THERE A SECRET TO dealing with all the constant advertizing? Some are especially obnoxious (bright colors blinking)?
Free Republic is the best, however, Drudge does not have these overpowering pop-ups; nor American Thinker and others. Still I have loved Free Republic until about two weeks ago. What to do? There are all the posters we are friends with day to day. I do not desire change until this recent advertizing happened.
God help Free Republic to return to normal.
Agreed!
I have come to expect it on the street, but in a medical facility it is unprofessional and UNACCEPTABLE.
I think you may have a virus or malware ..I had that happen to me and knew I had a problem..I ran Malwarebytes anti malware and it solved the problem..Free Republic accepts no advertising..It is run strictly on donations from posters.
