The boycott is working.
Ahhhhhh....NBC. Bravely standing on the deck of their sinking Titanic network telling everyone they think a brisk dip in the ocean will do them good.
“Full speed ahead, Bob! Maybe we can jump over the iceberg like Fonzie!”
More and more people I know are just dropping cable they use the internet and tend to do more around the house and read more. I was a voracious reader before we dropped cable and now since we cut the cord I've read 6 books in a little over a week. Got a bunch more storage shelves built for much needed storage space and got a huge chunk of writing finished and ready for my "first reader" and his critique.
I Wish I'd canceled it 20 years ago!
I think the reason NBC and everyone else is losing viewers is because their business model isn't working AND they spend less money on making good programming and spend more money on promoting the crap they do make. It seemed like every channel I watched the commercial breaks were for other TV shows and maybe one Consumer goods ad and maybe a Car ad. How can they sustain a business model when all the do is promote their product with ad space that used to be for paying customers like McDonalds and Pepsi? Its like TV ads are one big circle jerk.
I noticed AMC would put teaser ads for the Walking Dead in their other TV shows to try and raise viewership.
Why not get the people who make good TV and pay them more to make MORE good TV? No instead lets put another stupid ass show that has some "alternate lifestyle" couple who is oh so much more intelligent than the straight people on the show.
One of the reasons I think the Walking Dead is so popular is they haven't had the obligatory "Gay/Lesbian" character yet. Not because people hate such characters but because its become such a cliche now to have one in every show.
No need to worry NBC....there’s always curling ;)
"Missed fourth place by THAT much ...."
Who needs brain exercise? :)
Since you asked (okay, you didn’t...)
“The New Normal” finished third from last in Tuesday night’s overall rankings. But it did kick butt on CW’s series premiere of “Cult”.
I watch “The Mentalist” and that’s about it for primetime television.
Jeremy Clarkson is a raging Tory and Top Gear is the best show on TV bar none.
When founded, GMC stood for Gospel Music Channel.
A salute, my friend. :)
Never seen that show, but NBCâs âDatelineâ has sometimes been quite good. I used to watch âAmericaâs Most Wantedâ but no longer can find it. I recommend Jeanine Pirroâs show on Fox.
Doesn’t NBC own Univision??
Spoiler! :)
Might as well broadcast from the Kermlin.
No. From Wiki:
Univisión was acquired on March 29, 2007 by a consortium led by Haim Saban’s Saban Capital Group (who had previously owned the entity Saban Entertainment), TPG Capital, L.P., Providence Equity Partners, Madison Dearborn Partners, and Thomas H. Lee Partners for $13.7 billion or $36.25 per share plus $1.4 billion in acquired debt. The buyout left the company with a debt level of twelve times its annual cash flow, which was twice the norm in buyouts done over the previous two years.
NBC Universal does own Telemundo, however.
