I race formula cars in one of the developmental programs for Indy cars and it is one of the most intense things you can ever do. It doesn’t take much effort to drive 130mph in the rain or otherwise on a dedicated roadway. Jut push the gas pedal. No effort at all. The trick to winning is primarily the engineering of the vehicle and the strategic planning of the fuel/tire stops.
