That ship sailed on out of port with me on it and I hit 50 a couple years ago, and I said to myself, that’s that. In fact I celebrated it by buying a small cruising sailboat and moving aboard. Figure if I don’t fit in the traditional life, might as well spend the second half doing whatever I want til God rings the bell.

Same here, exactly minus the boat. My boat is a house in the woods.
Waking up content, secure, and free was hard work and did not happen overnight however it was sure worth it in the long run.
