A dog fight ended with a hail of bullets in a Philadelphia suburb, leaving residents shocked and looking for answers.

The incident started on Friday at around noon when a stray dog got into a pickup truck at a red light in Chester, Pa., and began fighting with another pooch, NBCPhiladelphia.com reported.

.
Exactly.

A dog will react to its companion’s distress.

Did you see that stupid “test” they did on dogs to judge the likelihood that they’d protect their people against intruders?

Most of the dogs bombed and they said it proved dogs were not good home protection.

They totally disregarded the fact that some yahoo in a costume does not have the smell/body language of a *real* intruder and that dogs are smart enough to know the difference.

Really annoying ‘study’ that was of no merit whatsoever.

Have you ever seen a “study” of anything that had any meaning whatsoever?

Studies are thinly veiled propaganda at best.

Well, no, not really.

Tons of FReepers showed up to the thread with what I consider much better empiric evidence to the contrary, anyway.

It was posted on a thread here several months ago.

Maybe. I hope I never have to find out. None of mine have ever shown any inclination in that direction.
