Amber Holcomb

And we end the show with ...

A boring Streisand song. But ignoring the source, this is pretty good. "Come Tomorrow" is the song. Beautiful finish.

Another standing-o from the judges.

Minaj: Baby girl, it was simply perfection. Beautiful human that is standing before me. You always give me young Whitney Houston.

Randy: That was the most difficult song (all season) This girl does not belong in the Bottom Three.

Mariah: If America doesn't get this ... Thank you for this performance! Please, vote for Amber!

Keith: So elegant, so beautiful. Love the way you came out and said "Oh by the way, I do this."

Sounds like the judges are setting up Amber to be in the bottom tomorrow so they can rescue her with the save.

The song is called "What Are You Doing For The Rest Of Your Life." Streisand isn't the source of the song. It was written by Michel LeGrand and it's been covered by hundreds of artists. It's a beautiful, harmonically sophisticated song with a difficult melody. Amber didn't sing it like BS, in fact, I've never heard this song sung in this particular style.

Ray Chew ruined the song with an extremely busy, indelicate, hamfisted piano approach and the sound man had Amber too far down in the mix...she was overpowered by Ray and the band. She is in jeopardy.

And when I say I’ve never heard the song performed in Amber’s style, I’m talking about her vocal performance. The style of the musical arrangement was fairly stock.
