“One night his key didnt work, and she waved him away from the living room window.”
She must have given some reason even if it was a bad one.
As the weeks went by it was revealed that she had replaced him, she just never gave him notice, until that day of coming home from work.
The key not working was his pink slip for more than a decades worth of what he thought was the family and home and lifestyle that he had built, and that was his present and future, and his life.
He was a good man and well rounded, extremely nice and sincere, pleasant and caring, a tall athletic guy who looked like Tom Selleck, a good Texas Catholic boy who did high rise construction, and a little male modeling.
It shocked all of us who thought that his marriage was the most secure of all.
What is awe inspiring, is to learn how meaningless the man is, how powerless, and how much an outsider he is in his own country. As a man, you are on your own and you have no friends or sympathizers within the system, the system sees you as an outsider, not as a member.
