Yes, there is a ton of bloat in the military budget. But, that's what you get when you transform it from a fighting force into another form of welfare. There are great people all over the military, but for those on this forum that have served, you all know what an entitlement system it has become.

What enabled Great Britain and so many other European nations to be able to spend their money on social programs and not their defense, was the fact that there were US military bases EVERYWHERE. When you know that the most incredible military machine is going to protect you and it won't cost you a dime, you have the luxury of spending your money on other things.
