The Oak is now under attack from the precessionary moth, this came from Holland and has been demonstrating on Oaks all summer with its’ ‘occupy the branches’ tactics.
The Birch is under assault ,for refusing to conform to these ridiculous laws ,by a fungus that rots its structure from within.Holland again.
The Elm was destroyed totally in the 70s by Dutch communist caterpillar action and is now extinct. This was for producing a useful fire wood.
The Yew will be next...It makes Longbows.
