My Hat

I don’t go out without my hat,
When it is cold outside,
Or on those bright and sunny days,
It helps my eyes to hide.

And always when it’s raining,
I wear it too at night.
Let’s face it, when you see me out,
My hat is in plain sight.

My wife complains I’m wearing it,
Much too much, she said.
“You have to let a little air get to,
The hair that’s on your head.”

I just respond by pointing out,
My hat will let it grow,
My hair is quite shade tolerant,
Besides, how would she know?
