3arTichoke57IC might be something I would use. The 3 and 57 satisfy the must have numbers or special characters requirement, T satisfies the must mix upper and lower case requirement, the artichoke satisfies the must be a word I can remember requirement and the IC is the last two letters of Free Republic, so that satisfies the customized for the web site requirement.
That way if someone steals my FR password, they can't use it to get into my email or bank. I could pick a core word with an l, t, or o and drop in a 1, + or 0 for the letter. (Maybe I did, you'll never know!)
Anyway I end up with a password that is easy to remember, fits nearly everyone's password rules, and is different for every site.
Not as secure as correcthorsebatterystaple, but that isn't acceptable to most websites...
I can’t even get into my bank with a password. I just drive up there and stand around looking like a potential nuisance (having a 3-year-old boy as an accessory) and the staff fixes everything for me.
The characters for each site thing is something that might work for me. I’m awful at remembering passwords and usernames.
