Their processing methods sound quite disgusting and reprehensible, as do many of their practices. I had to look it up. Basically, the point is to bleed the animal to death. I guess that's humane to them.

The problem is that their sanitation practices don’t meet accepted safety specs. Additionally, if an animal on the line goes down (dies), it is still processed as human food, as opposed to industrial practice of using the downed animal in animal feed. You’re correct, ‘Face: it’s a socio-political construct, and with that, I’ll shut up.
