It wasn't a sewage leak, it was a ventilation leak that released septic gases into the house. When the heater came on, bingo! Methane poisoning throughout. It was nauseating.
The vent has been beaten into submission, and the leak is no more.
The repairmen just have to finish making the demolished room right again.

If you would be so kind, which vent was that? Forewarned is forearmed and I’d like to avoid the issue w/preventive maintenance.
