I have a severe dislike for touchpads and touchscreens.
I have never had such devices work reliably for me.
Ever.
“Oh, you clicked waaaay over here? OKay!”
And it’s nowhere near what I touched.

Windows 8 was designed for touch based systems, not tower or desktops that still use mouse input.
[Goes hand in hand with the lie that PC gaming is dead.]
There's no real room for a desktop in a Gotham-sized apartment. I have only used laptops (except at work) exclusively since about 2007. I see great potential for taking a tablet on the subway with me, but having a keyboard at my desk for when I want to do real work.
