He looks about 15 years old in that picture ... sort of like seeing Kurt Russell when he was a child star in Disney movies.

Perfect except for the color. Yellow and off-white are not interchangeable!

You'd have to define advanced in some more concrete way for me to understand your point.

Ok... How much more advanced would you say a life form had to be to reach the threshold of Godhood? "Any sufficiently advanced technology may appear magical" and all that aside, we're talking Universe spanning beings on the order of Búri and Jehovah.

So far as I know, there are many "lower" life forms that we can communicate with.

Can you explain particle physics to a dog in a meaningful way? Why would you want to try? 10 Commandments, the 9 noble virtues, the 7 pillars, the golden rule... All of it amounts to little more than making sure the dog knows better than to pee on the carpet.

You've only called it irrational, not explained why it is so.

A rational being would factor in uncertainty. What if this really is all there is? Ending your life prematurely runs afoul of irrationality because the calculus of applying a permanent solution to a temporary problem doesn't work.

I would trust someone who is omniscient/omnipresent. Wouldn't you?

Sure. Now... Where are they? I'd like to talk to them.

That doesn't make sense to me.

Why not? We are here. Therefore, our "why" is to be here. 1 + 1 = 2. There is nothing more simple. You have one rock, you pick up another rock, you now have two rocks. "Why?" You just do... No one would go looking for a supernatural source for why one rock plus one rock suddenly equals two rocks. Nor would you assume some extra-Natural agency caused you to pick up those two rocks. You were that agency.

We are here. We are interacting with the reality around us. If there is any purpose to all of this at all, that is it.

End of line. Close file.

You’d think a pair of off-white pumps, 2” heel, open toe, size 9 wouldn’t be that hard to find.

I don't know about that, but old-fashioned penny loafers appear to be an endangered species.

Okay, so now you’ve copied a mind that is in a coma so that you will still have a medic onboard the sabotaged vessel leaving Earth.
And you decide to put said mind or one of the six other copies into a specialised shell so that you have a functional medic.
But there’s a problem.
That mind, now disembodied, has memories of where it came from, having hands and such.
How do you deal with this while trying to catch the saboteur and keep everyone else alive?

Zonja has been reading several different books on neurology and would be able to speak to that a lot more. From what I know, the speech centers in the brain are relatively well mapped.

Also, it’s a mis-application of theory that we only use 10% of our brain. We use it all, we just might not be using it to it’s full ability. Neural engagement in any particular task depends on a necessarily wide array of variables.

If you are just sitting around adding numbers, you aren’t engaging your speech, motor, reflexive, or emotional centers. If you are in the middle of performing a food fight as part of a theater production, you would have much higher engagement of many more portions of your brain.

My big theory has long been that the electro-chemical interactions in the human mind may be fine enough in structure to have some connection to the quantum side of reality. At that point, a lot of things become possible. From eternal life, the Akashik Records, psychic phenomena, to Deities themselves.

The rest of your post is interesting and we may get back to it, but for now I want to focus on the original question.

This is your statement of why we are here. You keep asserting it as if it matters. My point was that our opinion of why we are here matters. Your behavior suggests you agree. Do you? Does it matter whether your statement above is right or wrong?

That was the original question.

I did, and they said that the cartridges are too long to load in the Mare’s Leg, which I kinda figured. I’ll stick to the ammo Bryan bought. Sigh... Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner.

Those guys at Henry are pretty dang nice.

Oh boy! That cat looks just like my late Slinker, but skinnier. He was a gorgeous mackerel tabby, brownish-gray and black. He was a big, husky guy, but he passed of lymphoma when he was only 8 years old.

Does it matter whether your statement above is right or wrong?

Not really. If I had never made that statement, the sun would still rise tomorrow.

Still, from all evidence I have seen it appears to be a first-order predicate.

I wouldn't think that would be the only reason to state that something matters or doesn't matter. If they raise your taxes to be 120% of your net worth, the sun will still rise tomorrow. Would that mean it didn't matter that they raised your taxes that high?

But you decide based on your own criteria. I'll get back to some of the other questions in your post in a sec.

Here are a few things you said.

we're talking Universe spanning beings on the order of Búri and Jehovah.

All of it amounts to little more than making sure the dog knows better than to pee on the carpet.

So, on the one hand you've stated (implied, really) that God, if God exists, would have some impressive capabilities. On the other hand you've stated that a higher being doesn't need to explain everything it knows to a lower being, just enough for the two to interact in a meaningful way.

Given these two statements, is it unimaginable that God, if God exists, is capable of interacting with humanity sufficiently to do so in a meaningful way? For that matter, couldn't He figure out how to deal with an ant?

I have inferred from your previous posts that you think God couldn't do that. Did I infer incorrectly? If so, isn't your position really just based on your lack of imagination?

I wouldn't think that would be the only reason to state that something matters or doesn't matter.

Matters to who? Me personally? Or the Universe at large? The Universe, and any Gods who might exist, is like the Ultimate Honey Badger. It don't care.
