Here in the valley we, my neighbors, and us have had in the past terrible problems with squirrels. We did lotsa bad things to get rid of them, but the one thing that did the trick was a trap called the “Squirrelinator”>
Do an internet search for Squirrelinator Trap. It works. Just take the little buggars away from your property, and dump them preferably in the forest, or somewhere where they won’t find their way back, but won’t be somebody else’s problem.
Those cute little suckers are the most destructive, and tenacious consumers of backyard gardens there are I believe.

Use a good air rifle, Red Rider might kill a bird but will just piss off a small animal.There are many great air guns out there, just take your time to find the right one. I personally don’t like to be trapped by CO2 cartridges. PS barbecued squirrel is pretty tasty!
