And the plot thickens.

“The Superior Spider-Man”

“The Superior Spider-Man is an upcoming ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics that is scheduled to debut in January 2013 as part of Marvel NOW!.[1] The series is written by Dan Slott with artwork by Ryan Stegman, Humberto Ramos and Giuseppe Camuncoli. It features a reformed Otto Octavius who has taken over Peter Parker’s body and, having allowed Peter to die in Octavius’ body but being affected by Peter’s memories, is determined to be a better Spider-Man than Peter.[2] The title replaces the long running series The Amazing Spider-Man as the core Spider-Man book.”

Also had the first Avengers and the first X-Men. Loved the Marvel line of comic books back then.

In recent years, pop culture has told us that it’s kinda cool to be a geek. But when I read stories like this about fans getting in a lather over stupid comic book soap opera developments, it reminds me that it’s really not cool to be a geek. At least not a comic book geek.
