Earlier this week, my nine year old asked if we could open Christmas presents early because a classmate said the world would end.
“No, it won’t end.”
“But XYX said it will.”
“Ask him if HE has Christmas presents he can’t open until 12/25.”
The next day, my eldest told me, “Yeah, they have presents. And he can’t open them.”
“So his family doesn’t believe the world is going to end, either, on Friday.”
Invoking the Mayan calendar to open Christmas presents early was certainly a first for me.
