It would be very unusual for a sociopath to not have a criminal history of some kind dating back to at least adolescence and sometimes younger. They place little to no value on conforming to society's laws, so there is usually a history of lawbreaking, most often involving violence. Sociopathy/Psychopathy is at the severe end of the antisocial personality disorder spectrum. In my job as a mental health counselor at a community mental health center, I do intakes. I have sat across from some of these people, and I can almost pick them out walking in the door. They just have a way about them that is creepy. They are so untreatable that we do not accept them into our program.
