I'm curious about this 12.12.12 relief concert. Why do they need financial support from private citizens? New York and New Jersey voted for a candidate that promised big government is the solution to their problems. Has the government not provided for all their needs after the hurricane destruction?
don’t most of ‘em live in USA now because of the UK tax crap?
lacquer on the guitar is peeling off!!
How can acts like Bruuuce and An Chovi write off the donation of their time when they staged massive outdoor “free” concerts to lure the masses to Obama rallies in election seasons? Weren’t those campaign contributions over the maximum?
I’m sorry but these Rolling Stones do better old Rolling Stones: http://theunauthorizedrollingstones.us/
Hell, I’m bitter...so sue me!
Not one penny more to anyone, organization or relation...I’m through!
I’m keeping all my resources for when TSHTF......
Good luck with the live stream. They will all buffer and/or run at 240 or 480 resolution.
I’ve heard that donation of time cannot be written off, hence my guess that they all get paid on paper.
Only bit I wanted to see was the Stones (wasn’t Mick Taylor supposed to be in this appearance? He’s there Saturday).
My web stream locked up during their set.
Now back to liberal hosts. Conservatives need not apply. Might say something like “Baraq Ubama doesn’t like American people”.
And Bob Geldof with Live Aid 1985 (?)....
He admitted eventually that it was all for naught...
Wow! This is the same bunch of celebrities that held the huge fund raiser when we flyover rednecks were stacking sandbags along the Mississippi! (sarcasm)
Reading the thread and your comment about Jagger, I recall Mackenzie Phillips telling about how he did her when she was something like 12 or 13.
Another reason I wouldn’t watch it.
Look up “Fiddling While Africa Starves” by P.J. O’Rourke. Excellent essay on this kind of event.
It’s all about making “Obama’s Hurricane” better than “Bush’s Hurricane”.
This concert/fundraiser is supposed to be for the victims of hurricane Sandy.
Many of the victims happen to be white owners of oceanfront or oceanview property.
How much of this fundraising do you think these people will get?
NOTHING!
It will all go to the lower income people who didnt bother to get insurance...

It is just an excuse for a bunch of old, washed-up drug-heads to get together and show the world that they still have “it”.
If there were only one or two big names no one would watch.
Let’s have an AMERICATHON!
Yesterday’s weak satire is today’s ugly reality.

1998, the year American ran out of gas and cash...
This televised event doesn’t even have Meatloaf vs. the last automobile.
From the look of the crowd (and the bar being set at no songs older than about 1968 but the bulk no more recent than 1984) this is about a bunch of aging New Yawker baby boomers in the AUDIENCE present at MSG trying to tell the world they still have it.
to ALL the snarky commenters:
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Even if these folks were 0bamma suporters (which they are not)they are still our brothers and sisters, and many of them have lost EVERYTHING. They need our help.
Freepers are better than this.
Shame on you.
Concert complete with photo-op footage of Candidate Obama hugging hurricane victims.
Quite a contrast to Kanye Douchebag’s rant against Bush during the fundraiser for Katrina.
Again, what was the litmus test for “talent” who could appear?
Is this a Velvet Wellstone Rally?
The Who killed it tonight, five songs, all goodies! Roger’s lost his top end but hey, he’s 68 now. Peter was fun to watch still, hope he doesn’t get a dislocated shoulder while playing!
I just hope the $$ gets to the people who truly need it...
