17) Only in America could the government force a skating rink to have handicapped parking spots and Braille on the ATM machines.
Have checked with our local skating rink and we beat you by thirty years on this...on both counts.LOL

There used to be a nightclub here that, upon entering the foyer, one must climb UP stairs or descend DOWN stairs to get to either bar. They were forced by the ADA laws to put a wheelchair ramp outside the door. Cute.
Our local park has a men/woman bathroom that was suffering settling, causing rainwater to wash mud into the restrooms. To put a concrete patch or mod the doors to accommodate a higher threshold required a complete ADA-compliant rebuilding of both bathrooms to make the stalls wheelchair accessible which would require increasing the size of the building itself to allow the wheelchairs to be able to turn inside the stalls. The bids went from $17,000 upwards to over $80,000. This conundrum was easily overcome with two locks and hasps.
