Clint Jr is a junior and a half and he didn’t even watch. And we sent him to the National Championship for his Christmas present. Mrs S is on the Parent’s Association Executive Committee and she wanted to turn it off at halftime but I made her watch. Morale is low and it’s very sad with the circumstances.
I think several things happened. I think after the loss to LSU some finger pointed started. It was clear that neither Frazier or Mosley were up to the task the team stopped believing they could win. Finally I think the younger players succumbed to the media whispering campaign that said a NCAA investigation into Memphis football was going to pull in Auburn. Chizik nor his coaching staff could get out front of these issues and the situation snowballed into what we have today.< p>He is a good man. Perhaps in over his head. The Auburn athletic department is going to have to develop a strategy to deal with an openly hostile state sports media. I’ve been following Auburn football for 40 years. We knew the media played up Bama and dealt with it. We are operating in a completely different environment driven mostly by Danny Sheridan and Paul Finebaum. They don’t even attempt neutrality and are at best adversarial. Very unprofessional, if not out and out corrupt.
I watched. I always hope to catch a glimpse of her when they show the band. :) One of her friends from high school played the year they won the Championship and two of her friends at the other school got to play at last years Championship and might get to play again this year. I did buy me a Tiger Eyes Championship Hoodie and a Season Record or whatever showing teams and scores from two years ago so will wear them both in good health when visiting Auburn. :) Good that you made Mrs. S watch. haha :)
