Thank you for serving our kids. It’s much appreciated. (But please tell me you’re not a teacher with manners and an attitude like yours.)

And make fun of them all you want, but you know as well as I do that those silly traditions are steeped in military history. Nice that there are still places where ridiculous things like that even survive. Would think they might be appreciated by someone who prides himself in serving military families ... especially at Ft Hood where those guys still wear their Stetsons and ride horseback. Whatever.

And you’re right ... I don’t usually peruse these sports threads. I was coming here to congratulate the Bears on their win ... two schools on the Brazos River knocking off the #1 teams two weeks in a row. I thought it was kinda cool ... until I read these comments.

I’m over it.

Wow, that's not much of a compliment! I'm the one with the manners and attitude problem, though, right? Lol. You will be horrified to know that I AM, in fact, a teacher. Not a male, though, as you suggested. Don't worry...my students learn their "yes, ma'ams" and "no, ma'ams" right away each year. :)

Again, sports are a totally different animal than politics. You will probably want to avoid sports threads from now on. True sports fans can compartmentalize: we can respect the values of fellow conservatives who are aggies, for example, but still be vehemently anti-aggie. No biggie. I know lots of wonderful aggies. We love to trash each other's teams. I get all kinds of garbage about both Baylor and U.T. I don't take it personally, though, because: It's. Just. Sports. Sorry you don't know enough about sports and sports rivalries to spot the difference. I'll bet your husband does, though.

Have a great afternoon!! I think I have some lesson plans to tackle!! ;)
