“It now seems clear that the Romney campaign couldnt even get those people who voted for McCain to the polls to vote for him. How pathetic is that?”
Seeing that many stayed home because they didnt want to vote for a Mormon, I have to wonder which one was actually more pathetic.
Boortz, you idiot. We voted for SARAH PALIN!
Expressing a specific group’s participation as a percentage of the total participants does not tell us very much about their enthusiasm. What percentage of the all Millennials turned out to vote? What percentage are they of the total voting age population?
And I listened to Boortz for years and what he used to call The Christian Right has always driven him a little batty.
“The percentage of the youth vote actually INCREASED from 2008 to 19% of the electorate. In other words, the Millennial generation actually seems to be more politically engaged, compared to young generations of the past. This doesnt make them more informed — as demonstrated by their overwhelming support for Barack Obama — but they are showing up to the polls. What did Mitt Romney do to arouse the youth vote for the Republicans?”
I work at a university. “O” was everywhere and even professors walked around with “O” tee shirts.
Mitt had NO presence here that I could see...Legitimate or ‘tee shirt wearing professors’ - which I feel was highly irregular, no matter WHO you supported!
1) "The percentage of the youth vote actually INCREASED from 2008 to 19% of the electorate. In other words, the Millennial generation actually seems to be more politically engaged....
True?
2) "It now seems clear that the Romney campaign couldnt even get those people who voted for McCain to the polls to vote for him....."
Factually correct?
If so, how? How does this jibe with anecdotal reports of large Romney rallies and small Obama rallies in the days prior to the election? How does this jibe with the presumably anti-Obama showing of mid-term elections? Is voting fraud somehow underneath this? Is demographic liberalization creep underneath this? Is their an evangelicals-against-liberal-Mormon-Romney component?
Methinks Boortz is slipping. Can’t hardly listen to him anymore. He’s chosen the perfect time to retire. Patiently waiting for Herman.
Works for me.
“It now seems clear that the Romney campaign couldnt even get those people who voted for McCain to the polls to vote for him. How pathetic is that? Will the next GOP presidential candidate once again use this same tired cadre of campaign managers and advisors?”

Actually, Romney got more voters to the polls for him than McCain did in NH, NC, VA, FL, CO, NV, IA, and WI. He had fewer in OH and PA. I wonder if the overall turnout out decrease has more to do with voters and non-swing states becoming accustomed to not mattering much.
The GOP Presidential campaigns have run the same campaign from 1988 to now. Perot demonstrated that that plan was old in 1992, when he got 19% of the vote. What did Perot do? He bought time on the networks for hour long infomercials. He explained to people, what the situation was, where it was heading and what his plans were to fix the situation.
What do the GOP candidates do? They race around the country from one rally to the next. They rely on the media to get their message out in 6 second soundbites. In the end, no one knew what Romney's plan was. No one knew what he planned to do. There was no urgency of the situation our country was in other than "become like Greece".
Romney's convention speech didn't address the issues substantively. He and his advisors believe the American People are too stupid to deliver substance to.
This has to end now, should've ended 2 decades ago. The GOP needs a constant stream of in depth messages to the American People. They need to finally find away around the state-run media, after 3 or more decades.
The GOP needs to clean house. Boehner must go. He's a zero. He'll produce zero. Waste no time, he must go, as the failure he is.
