How many thousands and thousands died when they didn’t get out of Germany? Leaving the country when freedoms are disappearing at record speed is not a slap in the face to those who have served. I greatly appreciate the sacrifices that so many have made to make this country as great as it has been. A lot of us see the greatness coming to and end without a way to stop it.
Personally, I'm talking about retiring and will do so in a few years and I see things getting a lot worse in the US under Obama. The US will basically be a 3rd world, lawless country. One that is perhaps even in a depression rivaling that of the 1930's and my dollar will go a lot further elsewhere.
Why stay in a country that has gone to shit under a criminal dictator who idolizes the likes of Castro and Chavez?
I would rather retire to a country where the weather and the people are warm and friendly, many of the women actually prefer older American men and I can live well on 3 figures a month and also bank hundreds of dollars a month, if SS remains solvent.
I also have a 401k and may cash out when I'm 60 years old and make the move to the Phils and live on that and then collect SS when I'm 62 and still have money left over from my 401k
I'm not deserting my country. My country is deserting me.
“I would never desert my country that so many have given their lives for.”

We use to get these “dog in a manger” cracks fairly often
on FR, but I think you are the first since since Obumbo took over.
As I always reply....”I did not leave the country. The country left me.”
It does not come close to resembling the America that I grew up in.
Never??
Why? An attachment to the soil?
America is an idea. Freedom. Once it goes, its not America any more. Get it?
