"So this is how liberty dies: With thunderous applause"
Now I know how the character was suppose to feel. Watching the celebrations on TV; mindless joy at his victory.
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to selfishness;
From selfishness to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage
Surreal, just surreal. At least I can (maybe) some day tell my grand kids I was there when liberty and freedom died. Of course I’ll have to whisper the story to them somewhere out of earshot of the government monitors.
It’s a big deal. First black president and gets re-elected. he will be a hero for the left because he didn’t end up like Carter.
But he could end up like W Bush.
Doesn't matter - they'll race each other to see who can turn you in first and receive your food ration.
Be careful. If your grand-kids are schooled in government schools, they just might rat you out for telling them about liberty and freedom.
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction”
Ronald Reagan
