Matt ‏@ActionJacksonOO Early Exit Polls: 40% say Economy is #1 problem facing the country.. 52% say country is on the wrong track This is good for @MittRomney

What do the other 60% say the #1 problem facing the country is? The heartbreak of Psoriasis?

The Democrats are counting on early voting leads to overwhelm the election day totals of Republicans. Unfortunately, they may have pushed too hard and have little left for in person voting.

As my husband might say, “ Democrats have shot…. Oh, that’s too gross an analogy, I can’t say it. but I don’t think that viagra would solve that kind of dysfunction.

Called it!

Drudge says Bonzo is up in OH and PA and VA is a tossup.

Romney supposedly up in NC, FL. (They couldn’t give Bonzo ALL the swing states.)

No word on the IN Senate race.

But: the exit polls aren’t saying it’s a blowout for Bonzo yet. “Race tight”, as quoted from Drudge, means “Democrats need to turn on the vote fraud ‘spigot’”.

And they sure will.

Wow! Cunningham is now saying HOLD THE LINE! Dear God I’m getting a tad nervous...he says that people in line in OH might just leave the line and not vote....DEAR GOD HELP US!! He sounds alarmed!

Drudge says Bonzo is up in OH and PA and VA is a tossup.

Polls are still open in all those places, and Republicans tend to be late voters (after getting off of work).

Exit polls can be used as weapons. Drudge may be reporting them as-is, but without context (ie what the early exits were like in previous elections and how they varied from the final results) he's allowing himself to be used.

I heard the facts of exit polling (haha) that they are NOT DOING EXIT POLLING in 19 states. Most are red not doing with a few blue not doing.

Sooooo - how do they come up with *results* ??????

I’m looking at Drudge and I don’t see this. Drudge says Economy is #1 issue. That favors Romney

Does anybody here really belive that MSM would not have leaked if Obama was running away with this thing? But exit polls are inherently flawed with large amounts of early voting and the tendency for conservatives to give the MSM the finger rather than the info.

You’re very right — as long as the Republicans getting off work go and vote, these early exit polls have no meaning.

They are designed to demoralize, and if our voters don’t get demoralized then the media trick has failed.

I’m expecting that in 4 to 5 hours there will be mass hysteria on the Left as it becomes obvious that Barry has lost. What does Barry do though? Anyone see him conceding honorably..at all?

Drudge may be reporting them as-is, but without context (ie what the early exits were like in previous elections and how they varied from the final results) ..

Yes context would be helpful -- Drudge frequently posts items he labels "flashbacks" to contrast a current situation with a previous one.

In this case he should post a "flashback" to the 2004 election, in which exit polls showed Kerry winning handily.

I probably didn't need to remind FReepers of that ... most of us likely remember that nerve wracking news quite well! But things changed when the REAL polls closed. No President Kerry.

Moral of the story: Don't trust exit polls. For whatever reason, they are nearly always biased against Republicans.

"I plan to tune in to MSNBC to see some heads explode."

I was saying that too but whenever I try I just can't take it for more than one or two minutes. They are such repulsive people it's like having red hot pokers shoved in your eyes.

Did the exit polls ever show any Bush win—or do we have to go back to 1984 for them to have called it for the GOP?

This shows that at least as far back as 1988 the exit polls have never gone Republican, and they’ve on average overstated the Democrat candidate’s share by 4% points:

I think the data is from Roper.
