Frankly, I don’t see why we can’t just do ads like every other site and have supplemental donations to cover any other costs. The site’s design has not changed since at least when I joined in 2000. We still have to code HTML in to post anything extra.
I would think ads might help with upgrades.
Ads mean advertisers which means the leftists have pressure points to apply against people/comments they don’t like. It opens FR up to being at the mercy of complainers.
