In a lot of ways Iraq is the 'land of of 10 million holes' from people digging at ancient sites. (That is probably why it too so long to find Saddam. /sarc) This has always been a problem as Iraq as the current (and past government) does not have the resources to protect the sites and smuggling corruption is the norm.
