This thread has been a teachable moment for my 21 year old son, leading to a discussion about the Lituya Bay, AK tsunami in 1958.
That one would have been disappointing to anyone who happened to be in the valley at that time. :') Topped out over 1700 feet elevation, the terrain acted like a funnel.
