If it’s true that a plague wiped out “96%” of Native Americans in the five years prior to Plymouth Colony, we should be finding skeletons pretty much everywhere.
I think most of those skeletons would be dust by now, especially since in many areas, whole tribes were wiped out, with nobody left to bury the dead.
